How often should my pet be vaccinated against kennel cough?

Canine parainfluenza, adenovirus, and distemper virus, the main viral causes of kennel cough should be given in 3 separate doses as part of the puppy series, then should be boostered annually. The Bordatella vaccine should be given in 2 doses for the initial set, and then boostered annually. However, some boarding facilities and grooming parlors require that dogs be vaccinated against Bordatella every six months. Check with your veterinarian and groomer or kennel when scheduling vaccinations.
